Wazalendo FC emerged victorious, defeating Zan Heroes FC 4-3 in the Pamoja Soccer Tournament final at Ontario’s SaveMax Sports Centre. Ayub Moses secured a brace, with Captain Isaac Onyango and Richard Nene contributing a goal each.

Ayub clinched the Golden Boot, while Nene earned the Most Valuable Player award; Anwar Suleiman of Tanzania received the Golden Glove.

Canada is gearing up for the 2026 World Cup, hosting this exciting tournament. Uganda claimed the bronze by beating Ivory Coast 5-4. The event, organized by the Kenyan Canadian Association, also aimed to foster youth mental health through the Ontario Youth Wellness Grant.Captain Onyango expressed pride in their victory and thanked the organizers, while Tanzania’s Ali Faki acknowledged hard luck but valued the competition. Uganda’s captain, Alex Kabwama, praised the competitiveness and eagerly anticipated the next edition.Ephraim Mwaura, President and Executive Director of the Kenyan Canadian Association, revealed plans to expand the tournament to a 12-team contest next year.
