Kibera Soccer Women, the reigning FKF Cup champions, have strengthened their technical staff. Mary Adhiambo, an experienced coach, joins as assistant coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Adhiambo returns to the FKF Women’s Premier League after a seven-month break following her departure from Kayole Starlets in February. She will work with Kibera Soccer head coach George Bob Okallo. The club aims to defend its domestic title and seek further honours.
The club described the appointment as a major boost, highlighting Adhiambo’s more than 20 years of involvement in Kenyan women’s football as a player, coach and mentor.
A former Harambee Starlets player, Adhiambo represented Kenya during the 1990s and early 2000s before moving into coaching. She later served in the national women’s team setup and played a role in Kenya’s historic qualification for the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
Her coaching career has also included youth development and a spell with Mathare United Women. At Kayole Starlets, she guided the team to promotion to the Women’s Premier League during the 2024/25 season before taking charge during the club’s first campaign in the top flight.
Adhiambo joins Kibera Soccer after leading Kenya’s Under-15 team to a silver-medal finish at the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers in Rwanda.
Kibera Soccer praised her discipline, tactical understanding, player-development skills and composed leadership, expressing confidence that her experience would strengthen the team’s ambitions.
The AgarAgar-based club has also added several players to its squad. The new arrivals include Inviolata Mukosi from Tanzania’s Fountain Gates, Christine Joy Ouka from Mombasa Olympic, Faith Muli from Zetech Sparks, Diana Cherono and Uganda international Jauharah Nabaggala.
