Argentina star Lionel Messi has opened up after losing the World Cup finals to Spain on Sunday.
Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 as the defending champions failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Messi was seen heartbroken at full time in what could have been his last World Cup appearance. At 39 years of age, his future with the national team is still in the air, but it is highly expected for him to play again. Messi finished with 8 goals, just after Mbappe with 10 goals, and has been in immense form since the round of 16.
Messi took to his social media pages to pen the emotional letter. “The pain is immense, and this wound will take time to heal. But I also hold onto all the good things,” Messi wrote on social media. “It is hard to fully appreciate our achievement right now, but this group reached two consecutive World Cup finals. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every greeting and message. Once again, we managed to unite as a country and stand together, sharing the immense pride of being Argentine. ” he wrote.
