Team colours filled the room. Fans traded predictions, music set the tempo and every seat faced the big screen as Nairobi Street Kitchen prepared for football’s biggest football night. With chants rising, friendly rivalries taking shape and excitement building ahead of kick-off, the venue carried the buzz and energy of a packed stadium ready to cheer their teams .
Against this city vibrancy, Visa, Worldwide Partner of the FIFA World Cup 26™, brought its month-long tournament campaign to a memorable close by hosting football fans, Visa cardholders, banking and fintech partners for a watch party marking the FIFA World Cup 26™ Final. The event placed Kenya’s passion for football at the heart of the celebration, bringing the industry and the public together for the tournament’s decisive football match.
From the opening whistle, the crowd lived every moment. Each attack sparked anticipation, every save drew applause and every near miss sent a wave of emotion across the venue. The cheers, tension and shared reactions captured the magic of watching football together.
Visa connected with fans through mall activations at Junction Mall and Sarit Centre, a content creator collaboration and a FIFA-themed mural celebrating Kenyan illustrator and muralist Chelwek Chela. The watch party brought that momentum full circle, gathering Nairobi’s football community alongside representatives from the banking and fintech sectors for one final celebration.
More than 250 guests attended the watch party, including football fans, Visa cardholders and representatives from partner banks and fintechs. Beyond the live broadcast, the evening featured performances from artists and creators, football-inspired games, prizes and immersive experience zones where guests could test their skills and feel part of the action.
At the event, Chad Pollock, VP & General Manager, Visa East Africa, highlighted that : “Football has a way of bringing Kenyans together like nothing else, and that spirit was on full display tonight. Over the past month, we’ve watched this campaign grow from mall activations to closing it out here at Nairobi Street Kitchen, surrounded by fans, our banking and fintech partners, and cardholders. It felt like the right way to celebrate the tournament’s biggest night. Moments like this are exactly why we choose to invest in the things Kenyans love.”
As Worldwide Partner of the FIFA World Cup 26™, Visa remains committed to celebrating the moments that matter most to Kenyans. By bringing football, culture and payments together, Visa continues to create experiences that reflect the passions and everyday lives of its cardholders and partners.
