Luis Diaz scored the leveller off the bench as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Luton Town.

Liverpool stirrer Darwin Nunez hit the crossbar in the first half, which was largely dominated by Liverpool. In the second half, he produced one of the worst misses of the season as he saw his effort bounce high off the crossbar after a Mo Salah header.

Luton Town scored the opening goal through Tahith Chong in the final minutes of regular time. Luis Diaz then came off the bench to score the leveller in the extra minutes, and he ensured Liverpool got away with a point.

Luis Diaz dedicated his goal to his father, who has been kidnapped by a criminal group back in Colombia. He released a statement asking for his release. “I ask the ELN for the prompt release of my father, and I ask international organisations to intervene for his freedom. Every second and every minute, our anguish grows. My mother, my brothers, and I are desperate, anguished, and without words to describe what we are feeling. This suffering will only end when we have him back home.” He said.
