Manchester United crashed out of Europe after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

Erik Ten Hag’s side went into the game needing a win in order to stand any chance of qualifying for the next round. Having already qualified, Bayern Munich named a strong side. Bayern Munich started the game on the front foot with a Harry Kane effort, which was comfortably saved by Onana. United’s only shot on target came from a Luke Shaw effort, which Manuel Nuer pushed up the crossbar.

In the second half, Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game after being set up by Harry Kane. Manchester United offered little to worry Thomas Tuchel as they were crushed out of Europe.

Speaking after the loss, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag said his team played well. “The team did very well; we were very good defensively and in the pressing. We had many ball regains, especially in the second half. But then we didn’t take enough benefit from it—we were playing against a strong side.” He said.
