Manchester United were beaten 2-1 by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League in the last games of 2023 for both sides.

United almost found them down in the first half as Rapahel Varane almost scored his own goal. In the second half, Nottingham Forest opened the scoring through Nicolas Dominguez. Manchester United managed to draw level through Marcus Rashford.

However, Nottingham Forest managed to score the second goal of the game through Morgan Gibbs to give them a big advantage. Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner produced incredible saves to deny Bruno and Garnacho as Nottingham managed to hold on to the win.

Speaking after the defeat, Erik Ten Hag said his side needed to be better. “The injuries [are the main issue]. In January, we have a lot of players returning, so our levels can be higher. We had nine different partnerships in the back. It doesn’t matter as well; the fans don’t want to hear this; they want to see us win, and that is what we have to do for them.” He said
