After what might have been his final game for Chelsea, Mason Mount appeared distraught as he left Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder was unable to participate in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle but joined the rest of the team for the customary post-game lap of thanks. After the crowd had dispersed, Mount returned to the field and hugged a member of the Chelsea coaching staff while looking upset.

Mount is reportedly being eyed by both Manchester United and Liverpool in an effort to lure him away from his boyhood club this summer. Because of a contract dispute with Chelsea, incoming head coach Mauricio Pochettino has said he wants to keep Mount but hasn’t yet tried to influence his decision.

In order to ensure they obtain a transfer price and avoid losing Mount for free next summer when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign, Chelsea are prepared to sell Mount.
