Granit Xhaka bid goodbye to the Emirates faithful as he received a standing ovation after scoring twice.

Four years ago, it seemed unimaginable that Arsenal supporters would applaud Granit Xhaka and chant for him to stay. The midfielder had a public argument with fans, lost his captaincy, and was at his wits’ end, desperate to quit Arsenal.

Thought to be his final match before joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer, Xhaka had the ideal send-off at Emirates Stadium. How times have changed, though. Following his two goals in the first 15 minutes of a 5-0 demolition of Wolves, Xhaka also deserved a standing ovation. After full time,Xhaka went round the Emirates Stadium accompanied by his family as he waved goodbye to the fans one last time, especially after leading them to push for the title this season.

Bukayo Saka,Gabriel Jesus, and Jakub Kiwior scored the other three goals as they humbled the Wolves 5-0 on the final day of the season.
