Michael Olunga’s stint with Qatar side Al Duhail might be coming to an end if a report from the Turkish portal SporX is anything to be considered.

Olunga once again finished as the top scorer in the Qatar Stars League with 22 goals after winning the golden boot too last season and there is a feeling the Harambee Stars striker is angling at a new challenge.

While he had been linked with a move to Turkey in the summer, SporX reports that the player’s representatives at EMG Mundial have reached out to Galatasaray who are looking for a striker after Bafetimbi Gomis confirmed that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. “The manager of the 29-year-old striker whose contract with Al Duhail will expire at the end of the season sent news to Galatasaray and offered ‘we can sit at the table if you want’ offer for the Turkish club.” The tabloid claimed.

Olunga’s current deal with Duhail expires in June 2023 and will be available for free in the summer something that has alerted so many clubs in Europe.

Apart from Galatasaray, Scottish giants Ranger are said to have earmarked Olunga as one of the strikers they want at their disposal in the coming season. Rangers are bound to lose Croatia striker Antonio Colak and coach Michael Beale is said to have been offered Olunga, Josh Maja and Jean Phillipe Krasso as potential replacements.

Olunga’s scoring pedigree is something that is said to have impressed his suitors. He has bagged 21 goals in 48 games for the national team and an overall 158 goals in 219 career games.
