Newcastle drew 1-1 with PSG at the Parc de Princes in the Champions League group game.
Alexander Isak gave the visitors Newcastle the lead after Donnaruma punched an Almiron effort and goal. PSG had a quiet first half as Newcastle managed to hold them well as they went leading at halftime.
In the second half, PSG increased their game, but Nick Pope stood strong on several occasions to deny Mbappe and Dembele. In the final minutes of the game, PSG were awarded a penalty after the ball appeared to hit Livromento on the arm. Mbappe scored the penalty as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Speaking after the game, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe said it was not a penalty. “I didn’t think it was a penalty,” he said. “It’s not a penalty when it hits his chest first and then hits his hand, which is low. I’m not allowed to sum it up. I can’t say my inner thoughts, obviously. I thought the referee was having a good game up until this moment. He had been strong.” He said.
