The English Premier League is back in action with another round of matches this weekend as Fulham take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday evening.

Fulham are currently in 10th place in the Premier League standings and have been fairly impressive in recent weeks. Last week they thrashed West Ham United 5-0.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, are in seventh place in the league table at the moment and have been inconsistent this season. The Magpies slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of AC Milan in their previous game and will need to bounce back this weekend.

The last five meetings between the two teams Fulham have managed only to pickup a single point while loosing the other matches.

Meanwhile Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier is suspended while Anthony Gordon will be assessed after hurting his hamstring in the midweek defeat by Milan.

Fulham winger Willian is likely to play despite coming off in the win over West Ham with what seemed as a hamstring problem. Issa Diop who has been out with a foot injury for over two months, may feature, Adama Traore is still not ready after a hamstring issue, while Tim Ream is likely to be out until after Christmas with a calf injury.

Newcastle United are in desperate need of a resurgence. The Magpies were outplayed by Tottenham Hotspur last week and cannot afford another defeat this weekend.

Fulham on the other hand have found their shooting boots and are in form going into this game. Both teams are evenly matched at the moment and could play out a draw in this fixture.
