FKF Division One outfit Nyota FC has appointed Mohammed “Kidu” Ali as their new head coach two weeks after Ibrahim Shikanda left the club to deputize Patrick Odhiambo at Kakamega Homeboyz.

Mohammed was raided at Kona Rangers as the remains uncertain on their future; this was after Kona Rangers forfeited playing three league games which resulted them to be relegated to the fourth tier league. Kona Rangers remain adamant that they have the right to play in the NSL after they achieved the promotion status last season- they thumped Kangemi All-Stars in the play-offs. However last season was nullified thus denied the NSL promotion status. They now await the Sports Disputes Tribunal verdict on their fate.

Speaking with Mozzart Sport, club CEO Fred Wesonga, revealed that Mohammed Ali was the right appointment after their thorough vetting.

Kidu is our new head coach; he replaces Shikanda. We took time to settle on a new coach, and in him we have brought on board a man who understands the game too well, plays positive football, and we are confident that he will lead the team to the National Super League with the necessary support, “he stated.

Nyota FC are currently placed sixth having collected 16 points in the process. They are 5 points behind the table leader Green Commandos.
