The Spanish club will mark 100 years of existence, and they gave their fans a gift by appointing Rafa Benitez as their coach.

The experienced Spanish expert has returned to his homeland, and signed a three-year contract with Celta. He should stay at Balaidos until the summer of 2026, but considering how long he lasted in his previous jobs, it is unlikely that he will make it to the end.

After January 2022, Rafa Benitez finally has a new contract. He was literally kicked out at his previous job. Last summer he signed for Everton, and the fans were not happy that the man who brought a Champions League trophy to their arch-rival Liverpool took over at Goodison Park.

The Spaniard is back to his homeland as a coach after a seven and a half year absence. And unlike in Real Madrid, his last Spanish job, he won’t have such high demands in Galicia, where a La Liga survival will be the primary objective. And as long as he has healthy Iago Aspas in his side, that won’t be a problem.

The Spanish media are reporting that he will take charge officially on July 1st, but has already landed in Vigo and will soon start meetings regarding the squad.
