Former Harambee Rising Starlets coach Alex Alumira is bullish on Jackline Juma’s squad clinching a spot in the 2027 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, even facing Tanzania on their turf.

Kenya grabbed a vital 1-0 edge last Saturday at Ulinzi Sports Complex, thanks to Elizabeth Mideva’s late 84th-minute winner. The return leg looms this Saturday, February 14, at Dar es Salaam’s Azam Complex Stadium.

Alumira, now FKF’s Head of Football Education, lauded the team’s grit from the U-17 World Cup vets. “Juma’s instilled real mental toughness—they’ll handle Tanzania’s home attack with solid defending,” he told media. He urged trust in Juma’s tactics over fan tweaks, like early subs for Emily Moranga.

Team touched down in Dar on Monday, ramping up drills. Victory here pits them against Botswana or Cameroon next, with a Poland World Cup ticket on the line come September 2027.
