The international club-friendly match that was slated to take place at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday pitting Kenya’s outfit Gor Mahia and Tanzania’s outfit Azam FC has been canceled due to security concerns, confirms Azam Fc.

We have canceled our trip to Nairobi, Kenya where were supposed to play Gor Mahia this Sunday due to security reasons,” read confirmation from Azam.

Kenya over the past few days has not been in a good political climate where demonstrations were staged on Monday,20 March, challenging William Ruto’s government on the high cost of living.

Due to unavoidable circumstances and the prevailing political uncertainty, the two clubs have decided to cancel the match,” read part of a statement signed by Gor Chief Executive Officer Raymond Oruo.
