Nzoia Sugar’s attacking midfielder Joseph Mwangi is one of the four players that were released by Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat on Tuesday and says the few days spent at the camp were priceless.

Mwangi has had a breakthrough season with the sugarmen scoring nine goals in 20 league matches. He believes many future call-ups will come his way if he keeps up with the current mentality.

I would have wished to stay longer in camp but I appreciate the days I trained with the team. I will endeavor to work harder when the league resumes. My goal is to play for the national team on a regular basis,” he stated.

The other three players that were released alongside the 26-year-old midfielder were his teammate Hassan Beja, AFC Leopard’s custodian Levis Opiyo, and KCB’s Maurice Ojwang.

Harambee Stars are set to face Iran on 28th March in Tehran, Iran in an international friendly.
