Roy Hodgson

At the age of 75, Roy Hodgson has agreed to a remarkable return as the head coach of Crystal Palace through the conclusion of the current campaign.

The former England manager will make a second comeback from retirement to replace Patrick Vieira, who succeeded him in 2021 and was fired last Friday following a streak of 12 games without a victory. When former captain and Under-21 coach Paddy McCarthy oversaw a 4-1 loss away to Arsenal, Palace chairman Steve Parish began to worry about whether the team could escape relegation. Crystal Palace are currently in 12th place after playing 28 games, have just 27 points, and are in danger of relegation.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Roy Hodgson has already accepted terms with Crystal Palace so as to return as the head coach until the end of the season before deciding what to do next season.
