Ja Morant

Star guard Ja Morant is “hopeful” to play against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night for the Memphis Grizzlies.

After serving his ban, Morant is now qualified to play again, but due to his extended absence, he is undergoing a conditioning regimen. The Memphis Grizzlies will face the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. They have a record of 44-27 and have won most of their games during their absence. Ja Morant was suspended after displaying a gun during his Instagram livestream earlier this month, but he was not charged with any crimes.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Ja Morant’s behavior was unacceptable. “Ja’s conduct was irresponsible, reckless, and potentially very dangerous,” Silver said in the statement. “It also has serious consequences given his enormous following and influence, particularly among young fans who look up to him. He has expressed sincere contrition and remorse for his behavior,” he said.
