Arsenal midfielder Thomas Teye Partey has joined other well-wishers in issuing a message of condolences  to the football world after the death of Christian Atsu.

The winger who played for Chelsea and Newcastle United and was now at Hatayspor died in an earthquake that hit Turkey last week. According to reports, the player was in his residence in one for the buildings that was affected by the earthquake and was buried by rubbles only for his body to be found 1 week later.

In an emotional tweet shared on his social media pages, Partey termed the death of the player a hard pill to swallow.

“ It’s difficult to accept you are gone, my friend. I still can’t believe it. Christian, this is a hard pill to swallow. May God grant you a better place my friend🕊️

May all the souls lost in the disaster in Turkey and Syria rest in perfect peace 🙏🏾 said  Partey.

The two players plays for Ghana national team and have been influential in their squad with Atsu assisting h assisting the Black Start reach the African cup of nation finals in 2015.
