Marcus Rashford (10) celebrates after scoring for Manchester United

Manchester United defeated Leicester City 2-0 at Old Trafford yesterday, with Marcus Rashford scoring twice to close the gap on Manchester City.

Leicester City had numerous chances to take the lead through Kelechi Ihenacho, but they could not score after David De gea’s stunning save. Harvey Barnes also saw his strike saved on the line by the Spanish goalkeeper David De gea, who is in great form.
Minutes before the halftime break, striker Marcus rashford scored his 24th goal of the season after a brilliant pass from Bruno Fernandes. In the second half, rashford added his second after being sent on goal by Fred, while super sub Jadon Sancho scored to ensure the win for Manchester United.

Speaking after the game, Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag praised De gea for his performance. “He’s doing really well, and I think he had many more games [where he had a lot of clean sheets],” Ten Hag added. “It’s not only the keeper—because we are defending with 11—but there are moments you need the keeper.” He already had many moments this season where he was so important and he saved points. “That’s his job; he knows that, and in the right moment, you have to do it,” he said.

Manchester United will next host Barcelona in the return leg of the Europa League at Old Trafford.
