Jayson Tatum celebrates after winning the NBA All star MVP

Jayson Tatum scored 55 points during the all-star weekend as Team Giannis defeated Team Lebron 184–175.

The all-star game started with the team captains, Giannis and Lebron, selecting their starters just before the game began. Team captain Giannis played just twenty seconds as he was suffering from a wrist injury. Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 55 points while hitting 10 three-pointers, while Cleveland star Donovan Mitchell scored 40 points while also scoring eight three-pointers in the game. Portland Blazers star Damian Lillard, who won the 3-point contest, scored 26 points while hitting eight three-pointers. Bam Adebayo, Ja Morant, Demar Derozan, Pascal Siakam, Sabonis, Gilgeous Alexander, and Jrue Holiday completed Team Giannis.

For Team LeBron, led by captain Lebron James, who scored just 13 points but did not play the entire game due to injury, Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks scored 32 points while Jaylen Brown scored 35 points.Sixers star Joel Embiid scored 32 points, while Luka Doncic scored just 4 points. The rest of the players were Nikola Jokic, Julius Randle, Paul George, Anthony Edwards, Hailu Burton,  Fox, and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Following his performance of 55 points, Jayson Tatum won the all-star MVP at the Salt Lake City Olympics in Utah after being the first pick of Team Giannis.
