Vinicius was dismissed during Madrid’s 1-0 loss to Valencia on Sunday night.

The game between Real and Valencia was stopped for ten minutes after the Brazilian informed the referee that he had been the victim of racial abuse from home fans.

In the aftermath of the whole incident, Vinicius was sent off and has since come out in public about the incident. He also had a public exchange with the president of La Liga on Twitter after the star said La Liga had done nothing concerning the incident.

Taking to his Twitter page, Vinicius Jr. said Spain has turned out to be racist. “I’m sorry. The championship that was once Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano, and Messi is now the racists. A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and whom I love, but which accepted to export the image to the world of a racist country,” he tweeted.

Real Madrid players and players from all over the world like Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr., and Romelu Lukaku have come out to defend Vinicius and call for more protection.
