Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has reiterated that he is going to bring on board a permanent FKF-PL matches broadcaster after the league has been in the woods for two years.

Speaking in an interview at Citizen TV, the Sports CS disclosed that he is in the race to fulfilling the promise he made to Kenyans of broadcasting FKF-PL matches.

The league has been without a broadcaster since 2021 after Chinese broadcaster Star Times took off when the federation was disbanded in 2021.

Recently the league stroke a temporary deal with Tanzanian broadcaster Azam to acquire the rights to air two FKF Premier League games- Kariobangi Sharks and Tusker FC and the Mashemeji Derby.

“I made promises to Kenyans when I was reappointed Sports CS, and I intend to fulfill each and every promise made,” he said. “We will have a broadcast partner for the Kenyan league before the start of next season. Plans are at an advanced stage, and I want to assure the nation that we have a partner coming on board”.
