The World Athletics Championships hype is over the roof, each and every passing day. Athletes are also producing incredible performances in the ongoing National World Championships trials.
During the USA trials, Gabby Thomas ran the sixth fastest time in the 200 meters history after running a jaw-dropping time of 21.60.
The 26-year-old beat her closest competitor Sha’Carri Richardson, who has been in fine form coming up to this encounter. Richardson won the 100 meters national title on Friday and was hoping to secure the sprint double.
“I was ready this year. I was hungry. I wanted it more than, I think, anyone,” said Thomas. Every time we step on the track, we have to expect that our competitors are going to just bring it.”
“Every time we do step on the track, it’s just going to be a really fast time because it has to be – or else you’re not going to survive this event.” She added.
