Chelsea’s new manager, Xabi Alonso, has insisted that He is ready to start the new season at the club.
The former Real Madrid manager held his first press conference yesterday after being signed by the club this summer. Chelsea has already begun training for the new season after struggling last season. Alonso is expected to handle a big task after the club failed to deliver last season, as they also missed out on European football for the upcoming season.
Alonso insisted the team has great ambitions for next season. “We have the ambition to win a lot of games and be competitive. We need to take important decisions and build a strong culture in the club. I will not say what will happen in May; I am confident and optimistic that we can have a great season.” He said
He went on to add that Cole Palmer will be one of his key players in his project. “You can see he’s a special talent….you notice his quality. We are building a strong team to find the key players; for sure Cole is one of these key players in the attacking part,” he said.
