Valencia CF has officially signed Kenyan talent Amos Emmanuel Wanjala, the 19-year-old captain of Kenya’s Under-20 national team. The promising central defender will join VCF Mestalla, the club’s reserve squad, marking the academy’s first acquisition this winter window. Wanjala arrives from Athletic Club Torrellano, where he honed his skills in Spain’s Third Federation.

His path to Europe started at St. Anthony’s Boys High School in Kitale, Kenya, where he led the team to the 2023 KSSSA national championship. Scouts spotted his leadership, earning him a spot at Nàstic Sports Academy in Tarragona. There, he captained Kenya U18 to silver at the 2023 CECAFA Championship and guided the U20s through qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, even earning a senior Harambee Stars debut.

Beyond the pitch, Wanjala’s church-rooted passion for drums and piano reflects the discipline instilled by his mother. After stints training with Elche CF, he now bolsters Valencia’s youth setup, joining Kenyan exports like Aldrine Kibet at Celta Vigo and Alvin Kasavuli at Nàstic.
