Anthony Martial will not be available for the FA Cup final on Saturday, according to Manchester United.
On Saturday at Wembley, the Red Devils take on rival Manchester City in an effort to add a second trophy to their collection for 2022–23 and block their crosstown rivals from achieving their treble chase. The France international started their last home league win over Fulham during the weekend, but he did not finish the whole game.
Manchester United released a statement confirming the news: “Anthony Martial is out of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester City due to injury.” The France international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford. “Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.” Read the statement.
United are also sweating over the fitness of Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, who have been carrying injuries in the closing stages of the season.
