Arsenal defeated Liverpool 3-1 in the Premier League yesterday at the Emirates Stadium.
In what was anticipated to be a tittle race game, Arsenal got the breakthrough through Bukayo Saka, who scored after a rebound by Allison from a Kai Havertz effort. Arsenal kept on piling up the pressure, with Konate making a good block to deny Martinelli. Liverpool scored the leveller just at the stroke of halftime as Gabriel Maghlaes scored an own goal.
In the second half, Liverpool started as the strong side, with Curtis Jones effort curling just wide. Arsenal got the lead back after a miscommunication between Virgil Van Djik and Allison, which allowed Martinelli to give the home side the advantage. Konate was then sent off for a second yellow card after his foul on Havertz, and the Arteta side were handed a huge advantage.
Substitute Leandro Trossard sealed the win after a lovely play and sprint and was able to beat Allison in his near post to give the home side a big win.
