Manchester City defeated league leaders Arsenal 4-1 yesterday at the Etihad in a title face-off.

Arsenal started on the front foot as they tried to attack Manchester City early on. Erling Haaland set up Kevin De Bruyne, who ran past Gabriel and slotted home the opener past Aaron Ramsdale in the 7th minute. Haaland then had a few chances in the first half, but Ramsdale stood strong to deny him. In the first half’s stoppage time, John Stones gave Manchester City the second with a powerful header. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but after VAR review, it was given.

In the second half, Kevin De Bruyne faded away Arsenal’s title hopes as he scored his second of the game in the 54th minute after being set by Haaland again after a mistake by Odegaard. Arsenal seemed to have lost hope as they created little to try and get a goal.

Rob Holding pulled one back for the visitors in the 86th minute after being set up by Leandro Trossard. Erling Haaland finally got his goal in extra time to finish off a comfortable 4-1 win over Arsenal.
