Arsenal players celebrates after Saliba goal

Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Sporting Lisbon away in Portugal on Thursday evening in the Europa League.

France defender William Saliba opened the scoring for the Gunners with a wonderful header to give Arsenal the lead. Goncalo Inacio then equalized for Lisbon after poor defending from the Arsenal side. Paulinho then scored to give Lisbon the lead in the second half after a rebound by Arsenal goalkeeper Turner. Arsenal leveled when Granit Xhaka’s effort was deflected off and then found the back of the net.

After the game, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was far from impressed with the performance. “It is something we must improve on dramatically in the next few matches if we want to be winning games.” Making six changes, you lose a bit of the cohesion, but we had to make the changes because some were unavailable and others had to play out of position. But they did well.” He said.
