Chelsea and England defender Ben Chilwell revealed that Chelsea’s dressing room is flat amid poor performances.
Chelsea were once again beaten in the Premier League by struggling Southampton, 1-0. Chelsea are yet to win a game in all competitions since their heavy spending in the January transfer window, in which they brought in a few players like Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez, Mukiele, and Fofana. They were also defeated 1-0 away by Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
According to Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell, who recently returned from injury, the Chelsea dressing room is in a mess following the recent bad results. Speaking after the defeat to Southampton, Chilwell said, “We need to work hard; it is a pretty flat dressing room at the moment.” “It’s difficult to get into what we did right and wrong today, but we have until our next game to work hard.” Again, not good enough. “I can stand here and say we created chances, like I said in Dortmund, but it doesn’t really mean anything. “We need to win these games,” he said.
Chelsea did not have a training session on Monday as they try to overturn the bad results in the coming weeks. Reports also suggest that the Chelsea board is backing Graham Potter as their manager going forward.
