Kenya has suffered a blow after Mohammed Bajaber withdrew from the team ahead of CHAN.
The former attacking midfielder for the Police has signed a two-year deal with Tanzanian giants Simba SC and will now join the team in Egypt for a preseason tour. CHAN is scheduled for local players; hence, his exit from the Harambee Stars team. Brian Michira has already joined the team as his replacement.
Full back Daniel Sakari is confident they will do well in the tournament. “Preparations have been okay; we’ve been together for the past three weeks. Everyone expects a tough tournament because we know big teams are coming; they have been there. We are going into the tournament for the first time, and we expect to make a mark because we know it’s a stepping stone to a higher level.” He said.
The Harambee Stars are in Group A, and they will kick off their journey against DRC Congo on Sunday, August 3. They will play all their matches at Moi International Kasarani.
