Ulinzi Stars has named its new captain ahead of 2023/2024 FKF-PL season which will commence this Saturday. Ulinzi Stars will start their season against Nzoia Sugar FC at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma county.

Ulinzi Stars new head coach Antony Kimani “Modo” has decided to change leadership at the club, and by doing so Brian Birgen will be the new Ulinzi Stars captain taking over from James Saruni who seem to be out of Kimani’s plans ahead of new season.

Birgen last year in February was given the armband during their match encounter against Tusker FC and this was his sentiment after the match.

“It was a good experience because it has been a long journey. I joined the team when I was very young, and I thank God for getting me to the point where I am handed the armband.

I am thankful to the coach for entrusting me with the chance to lead the team.I have been under a number of captains at Ulinzi, and I have learned a couple of things on top of being humble and leading by experience.

You should be a good example in terms of discipline and have a good performance to lead from the front, and I tried to emulate that. “
