Chelsea woes continued despite Graham Potter being sacked and replaced by Frank Lampard as an interim manager last week.
Wolves proved too good for the blues after Matheus Nunes pulled a strike in the 32nd minute to give the host a lead at half time. Chelsea had minimal clear cut chances that they failed to capitalize and getting punished at Molineux Stadium. Despite picking a point against Liverpool on Tuesday, the Blues retained their 11th position in the Premier League table.
However, the newly appointed coach Frank Lampard told the BBC that there are no excuse for the loss and he will to get an understanding for it.
“There has been a lot of change and that’s not an excuse but things need to improve and I think that performance summed it up. I have to get an understanding of it. You have to get used to winning and make it a habit”. said the former Everton coach.
Champions League will be back next and the Stamford Bridge based club will square with Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg.
