Chelsea defeated Fulham 1-0 on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

The Mauricio Pochettino side was looking to bounce back from a defeat in the Carabao Cup against the Fulham side. Chelsea started the game on the front foot, as they had an early chance through Sterling, but he could not convert. Fulham grew into the game, and their best chance of the first half fell to Harry Wilson, whose effort was brilliantly saved by Petrovic.

In the added minutes, Raheem Sterling was brought down in the penalty box, and Antony Taylor pointed into the spot. Cole Palmer stood confidently to score the goal, which was his eighth in the Premier League.

In the second half, Fulham had their chances to level the score as a Raul Jimenez effort was saved by Petrovic, while a Pereirra free kick just sailed over the bar. Sterling also saw his effort bounce off the crossbar, while Conor Gallagher also saw his effort bounce off the post. Fulham had chances in the final minutes, but former Chelsea player Willian could not keep his free kick down.

Chelsea have now won four consecutive games at Stamford Bridge for the first time in three years.
