In Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 94-89 to claim the NBA title.

The Serbian international values the Bill Russell trophy more than the two MVP trophies he won in total in 2021 and 2022, which he acquired as the NBA Finals MVP. In contrast to Jamal Murray’s 14 points and Bruce Brown’s 14 points off the bench, Jokic concluded the game with 28 points and 16 rebounds.

Jimmy Butler led the Miami Heat in scoring with 21 points, while Bam Adebayo added 20, but it wasn’t enough to force a sixth game.

Speaking after winning the title, finals MVP Nikola Jokic was happy with the team’s performance. “It was ugly, and we couldn’t make shots, but at the end, we figured it out,” Jokic said. “That’s why basketball is a fun sport,” he added. “It’s a live thing. You cannot say, ‘This is going to happen’. There are so many factors. I’m just happy that we won the game.” He said.
