Renato Sanches, the 25-year-old PSG midfielder, has expressed his take after his teammate Lionel Messi was whistled by PSG fans in their 5-0 win over AC Ajaccio at Par des Princes.

This was not the first time the PSG fans booed Messi. The result of the booing was after Messi took an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia.

However, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner issued a public apology but the fans seemed not to be moved by the apology.

“Yes, I think it’s a bit tricky for everyone and especially for Lionel because no player appreciates this kind of moment,” Sanches told reporters (h/t Paris Fans).

“But it is a situation that we cannot control. It’s a bit difficult for him. But it is not for me to talk about this situation. If he should stay at PSG? Ask him.”

The future of the 2022 World Cup winner seemingly looks away from the Ligue 1 side each and every passing day with his next destination becoming a mystery.
