Premier League leaders Liverpool dropped points as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham at Anfield.

Fulham opened the scoring through Andreas Pereira, who struck a stunning volley into the net. Minutes later, Liverpool’s day worsened when Andy Robertson was sent off for bringing down Harry Wilson, who was through on goal.

In the second half, Cody Gakpo equalized for the home side with a brilliant header from Mohamed Salah’s cross. Salah came close twice to giving Liverpool the lead but was unable to find the target. Rodrigo Muniz came off the bench to restore Fulham’s lead late in the game. However, the drama wasn’t over, as Diogo Jota, returning from injury, leveled the score for Liverpool and secured them a draw.

Speaking after the game, Liverpool manager Arne Slot revealed he was pleased with the impact of his substitutes. “First of all, we are delighted to have some players back because we’ve had our injuries. The good thing is that nobody spoke about it because that means you get results. But to have them available at this moment in time was really helpful. Darwin and Jota had an impact, but Harvey [Elliott] had an impact as well, being out for two months now—it’s good to have him back also,” he said.
