Egypt’s Al Ahly defeated Wydad Athletic Club 3-2 on aggregate to win the CAF Champions League.

Wydad took the lead through Attiat Allah’s free kick from the right, which curled all the way into the far right and nevertheless gave them the lead in the 28th minute. Shenawy was easily defeated as a result of the entire defense being caught off guard by Mohamed Ounnajem’s sprint towards the ball.

Al Ahly managed to draw level through Mohammed Abden, who scored from a corner to draw 1-1 on the night and give his side a 3-2 lead on the night.

In extra time, the Egyptians had a chance to extend their lead when Abdelkader recovered the ball beyond the defense, but Youssef El Motie of Wydad prevented it with a brilliant double save.

Ahly prevailed and reclaimed their title despite Wydad applying pressure with some nerve-wracking set pieces and drop balls.
