Erling Haaland won the Gerd Muller trophy at the Ballon Dor ceremony in France.
The Norwegian striker Haaland helped City win the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup with a record-breaking 36 goals in 35 league games and 52 goals overall. He also finished second in the overall ballon dor ceremony, below Messi, who won the trophy for a record-breaking eighth time.
After winning the trophy, Haaland thanked everyone who supported him last season. “I want to thank Manchester City, the whole club,” said Haaland. “I also want to thank my family and all the people around me for making me who I am today.” He said.
