Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has hit back at club chairman Charles Gacheru urging him to dismiss him immediately.

Gacheru, said in an interview that the Veteran tactician will be shown the door if Gor Mahia defeat them on Sunday.

Matano has now hit back telling the club to sack him immediately. “This is Robert Matano, I’m Robert Matano, This Robert Matano. I don’t succumb to threats.

I don’t work with ultimatums; I don’t fear being sacked. He can do it even now. What will he do to me if I decide to leave before Sunday?” The Veteran coach told the Daily Nation.

“After winning the league in 2021, I was given a six-month contract. At the start of last season, I was given a two-month contract with a reason that my performance was being assessed again.

This season I’m being given ultimatums again?” he added.“The league has just started and it is a marathon.

Why am I being threatened? I can even decide to leave because I’m not in that category of people who work under threats.”

Matano rejoined the Brewers in 2018 for his second spell. He has won two league titles with Tusker in 2012 and 2021

Matano is a four-time Kenyan Premier League winning coach having won the title with Sofapaka F.C. on their debut season in 2009, and with Tusker F.C. in the 2012, 2020–21, and 2021–22 seasons.
