Derrick Otanga, the 2021-22 FKF-PL golden boot winner has left the Libyan Club, Al-Ittihad Misurata SC barely four months after joining the club from KCB.
According to Mozzart Sport, the potent attacker fell out of favor in the starting lineup after former AFC Leopards coach, Luc Eymael left the club on December 2022.
However, despite things not going as planned, Otanga, expressed that he gained valuable lessons at the club.
“I can confirm that I have left A-littihad Misurata SC. The decision was mutual, and I want to wish the club well in its future endeavors. Things did not turn out as I had expected, but nonetheless, it was an invaluable experience for me. It was my first time playing club football outside the country, and no experience is a bad experience; I pick lessons and forge forward.” The attacker said.
Otanga is now back in the country as a free agent and hopes to secure a move to the FKF-PL clubs as the transfer window nears.
”I am open to offers from interested signings. I am just looking forward to playing and scoring because that’s what I love most. Otanga will be back soon,” he concluded.
