Robert Matano walked the talk after declaring war against AFC Leopards, he vindicated his threat by thumping the Leopards 1-0 to keep sight of the log leader Gor Mahia.
The defending champions are four points behind Gor Mahia with a game in hand. Matano believes their victory against AFC Leopards on Wednesday was a sign of intent to defend their title.
“It was a brilliant display of character. Collecting away points against an opponent of AFC Leopards’ caliber is not a mean feat and I laud the boys for delivering victory this afternoon,” Matano said.
Matano is no longer hiding from the fact they are going to clinch the trophy.
“We now have high hopes of defending our title, but I urge the boys not to lose focus since we expect the competition to intensify in the remaining phases.” He added.
