FKF-WPL Club Gaspo Women has appointed former Harambee Stars head coach Jacob “Ghost” Mulee as their new head coach, Gaspo’s team manager Edward Githua confirms.

Gaspo Women is seeking to dethrone the four-time FKF-WPL champions Vihiga Queens this season. They are currently tied with Vihiga Queens at the helm of the table, Gaspo has a superior two-goal difference.

Before ‘Ghost’ joined the side, goalkeeper trainer James Obeng had assumed the role of head coach following the exit of yet another stand-in coach Ibrahim Mohamed.

“We are chasing the league title and we need an experienced coach to walk with us in the remaining crucial matches. We are also preparing for the CAF Champions League.

We are not jumping the gun but have to be ready. These regional competitions require a certain level of coaching certification, and we are keen not to make any drastic changes by bringing in someone new when the time comes,” Githua explained.

The club has not yet secured a sponsor but is working tirelessly to secure one. Former president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta has been helping the club financially.
