With a brace on his first league appearance since November, Gabriel Jesus led Arsenal to their seventh straight Premier League victory.

Jesus, who hadn’t scored since the victory over Spurs on October 1, calmed the crowd by converting a penalty he’d earned himself after Luke Ayling was called for a tackle halfway through the first half.

Immediately following the break, Ben White doubled the advantage before Brazilian Jesus added to his score with a precise finish off Leandro Trossard’s cross.

A deflected Rasmus Kristensen effort temporarily cut the deficit for Leeds before Granit Xhaka’s late header sealed yet another victory for Arsenal, restoring their eight-point lead at the top of the table ahead of next weekend’s journey to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

Arsenal cannot afford to drop points, especially with Manchester City beating Liverpool earlier on.
