
Harambee Stars is set to take on Cameroon in their AFCON qualifiers in Yaunde, Cameroon.
They wrapped up their training session on Wednesday in Nairobi and are set to travel today before they play on Friday.The return leg will be played next week in Uganda behind closed doors.
Speaking after the training session, Harambee Stars head headcoach Engin Firat said it will not be an easy game for Cameroon. “We know how tough this will be, but I believe we’ve reached a point where only the finer details will determine the outcome.” “It won’t be easy for Cameroon either,” Firat added. “These two matches will decide whether we can make it back to AFCON or not.”He said.
After two games, Kenya and Cameroon are tied atop Group J with four points apiece. The Harambee Stars’ season began with a 0-0 tie against Zimbabwe. In their second game, which was played in South Africa, they defeated Namibia 2-1.Because there aren’t any regulated stadiums in Kenya, Zimbabwe, or Namibia that have been sanctioned by CAF, the three countries are playing their home matches at neutral locations.
