The IBF swiftly addresses the vacancy left by Jermell Charlo, ordering a junior middleweight title bout between Bakhram Murtazaliev and Jack Culcay. While the victor will claim Charlo’s recently vacated title, negotiations are underway to finalize the terms.

The IBF sets a deadline of December 29 for an agreement, though the standard 30-day period implies a deadline of December 20. Bakhram Murtazaliev, promoted by Main Events and managed by Egis Klimas, faces Germany’s Culcay, promoted by AGON Sports, known for success in purse bid hearings.

The move follows Charlo’s decision to relinquish the title, with Murtazaliev as the long-standing mandatory challenger.

Multiple offers for a step-aside package were extended to Murtazaliev to facilitate Charlo’s pursuit of unification and more lucrative matchups.
