It’s at 1.25 AM on Wednesday E.A.T. The Harambee Stars team has flown off to Qatar, they arrive at exactly 8:00 AM. They are set to lock horns with the hosts on Thursday in an international friendly.

After arriving safe and sound in the Asian nation, they were welcomed in an emphatic hospitable fashion- felt good for them.

According to the team’s head coach Engin Firat who spoke on Monday prior to their departure, the encounter against Qatar would serve as a great platform for scouting for the players.

“These kinds of games are so important for the country’s football, forget the national team because the reality is that Kenyan football is not really known around the world. This is a big opportunity to show who we are, this means not only to the national team but also the club football in Qatar. If we give a good show together with the impression that Olunga has shown in Qatar, it can open a lot of doors for our players.

“Qatar is a very strong side, it is just that during the World Cup, they did not show the performance they have shown all that time before.” He said.
