Former World javelin champion Anderson Peters says he is eager to compete against Julius Yego in the upcoming Kipkeino Classic on Saturday.

Julius Yego and Anderson Peters will renew their rivalry as they go head-to-head but Peters is looking forward to the event. “I’ve been competing with him since 2017 and following his career closely. I know him pretty well. He is a very good competitor, and I am looking forward to competing against him once again.” As it is my first time, I am simply looking forward to competing in front of the home crowd. I really appreciate javelin, and I know Yego is a javelin thrower from here, so I am looking forward to a supportive crowd for the javelin event.” He said.

Last year’s competition saw victory for Ihab Abdelramah of Egypt, who will be eager to win again, while Leandro Ramos of Portugal, Smit Douw of South Africa, Timothy Herman of Belgium, and Roland Strobinders of Latvia will also be competing.
